We really wanted to like this restaurant. We had heard great things, and were excited to go for our 35th anniversary. Unfortunately, it just didn’t deliver on the hype or the amount of money we dropped there. The atmosphere was nice but loud. The cocktails and sampling of dips to start were great. Then came the raviolo with a duck egg. We were psyched for it, but the pasta was thick and chewy, the egg was overdone, and the entire dish was under seasoned. We actually left part of it on the plate. Entrees didn’t redeem the dinner. I had striped bass on mussel chowder which was pretty good but didn’t blow me away. My husband had the lamb shank on rice. The rice was bland and dry, and the lamb was under seasoned and uninspired. The service was friendly; the hostess greeted us with a “happy anniversary!” but the pacing was way off. From the beginning, we felt rushed at the table. our waiter served our bottle of wine immediately after our cocktails, rather than waiting for us to finish. Then he took 20 minutes and 3 “oops I forgot” visits to bring a bucket of ice for our bottle, which got nice and warm while we drank our cocktails. This seems very picky, but when you drop over $300 on dinner, we expect much more from the experience. We won’t be going back.
