The Avenue is a family-friendly neighborhood noshery serving fresh seafood and contemporary American cuisine by Chef Paul Madrid in an exposed brick casual setting. We offer elevated American fare, fresh local seafood, a full-service bar, a beer list featuring local, American, and Belgian craft beers, and, most importantly - a comfortable, fun atmosphere. Come early with the little ones or later for date-night buffoonery, and dine al fresco with your pooch on the front patio. The Avenue was honored by EaterDC with the #1 Burger in DC 2022. True to a neighborhood joint, the goal is to get to know each guest, treat them how we'd like to be treated, and have them back time and time again.

Brunch. Wonderful staff. The scrambled eggs were unpleasantly salty. Almost inedible. Same with the chorizo. We all had the same experience.

Great neighborhood restaurant. Very pleasant to sit indoors or outdoors on a nice evening. We each had burgers (mine was a Beyond Burger). Both were delicious, with nice extras. My drink (blood orange margarita) was great. Burgers were half-price - I don't know if this is a regular Monday night thing. Key lime pie was unusual but delicious for dessert. Highly recommended.

Limited menu with sandwiches and sides, but no entrees. They were out of many of the items on the menu. This was our 2nd time there and this has happened both times. We won’t be going back. Also, no decaf coffee.

I was with two friends for lunch, and we all enjoyed our meals, and said we had to return. I got the grilled mushroom melt sandwich with cheese and pesto. It was so-o-o good. Liked the amount of vegetarian options on the menu.

This was a VERY disappointing experience. We traveled an hour to take our son to The Avenue for his birthday . We had a reservation through Open Table at 1pm. I had touched base w the restaurant about the parking situation and they had responded. When we arrived, there was a note on the door saying they opened at 3pm. I do not know how this happens but we obviously had to scramble to find a new spot for our son’s birthday lunch. I reached out to the restaurant and heard nothing.
