Skyler Reeves opened the Barley Hound in May of 2015. With a large dog friendly patio, welcoming casual atmosphere, and outstanding food and drinks it has quickly become one of Prescott’s favorite restaurants.

Barley Hound aims to be at the forefront of the culinary experience while maintaining a welcoming and casual small town vibe. The menu is designed to please adventurous eaters, while also featuring some delicious familiar items. A house ground chuck cheeseburger with fries is just as at home on our menu as our oxtail stew or scotch egg. The menu changes seasonally due to our heavy reliance on local produce.

The beverage program takes its lead from the dinner menu and focuses on local and fresh ingredients. We offer eight Arizona craft beers on draft, a small and eclectic wine list, and an extensive spirits list. Great care is taken in forming our craft cocktail menu, which features fresh, innovative cocktails, as well as classic cocktails made with house sq

Good food! Spendy for what you get. Didn’t have truffle and that is literally half of their menu. Ran out of champagne. I didn’t drink it. They had only enough champagne for one drink on a Sunday. Ambiance was perfect. Weather perfect. The waitress came and gave us blankets.

We were a table of 8 and all of us loved our food! The Duck Burgers are delicious. Service was excellent! The only things that stop it from perfection were that it was rather cold inside (we all kept our coats on) and the music a bit loud for us to have conversations.

We had the best server. Don’t remember her name. But she was great. We all were very happy with our food. I had the short rib grilled cheese and OMG. So good. Great vibe.

We made reservations well in advance of NYE. When we arrived early, we were told that we were to sit outside, which was freezing cold, and no proper heaters were provided. The patrons eating outside looked uncomfortable. We informed the greeter (also our waiter) that eating in a coat and gloves was unacceptable, and he said that he didn't have indoor tables, but would "check". He came back and said we could eat indoors. We would have left if we were not going to eat indoors. There was a limited menu, with no substitutions. That was fine, but the only normal food was prime rib and they were "out". Fake pasta (gluten free, vegetarian) was not an option, Duck or Lamb is not something we like. The menu was far too limited, without another meat or chicken option, especially in a cowboy town where everyone eats beef. He then "found" one piece of prime rib available. We ordered it. It was good. Kind of cold, but good tasting. The sides were also good. Also ordered was an appetizer with french fries, cheese, and gravy. It was okay. A beer and a glass of "house cab" was ordered. The wine was immediately brought out. Later on this. We were brought bread and salad. Waiter came back wanting to know if more wine was wanted. He informed us that he had put our order on hold, (restaurant was near closing) and it would be another 10 minutes. Food was brought out. While we were eating, more wine was offered. When the bill came, a glass of house cab was $25. No wine on the menu shows that high of a price. The waiter suggesting more twice, and delaying our meal unnecessarily makes us suspect that if another glass was ordered, the bill for it would have been $50? Shocked, we paid the bill and left. The waiter was given an adequate tip of $17 for the food served. The restaurant group was contacted via email the next day, after verifying that there was no wine that was $25 for a glass (house cab should be the least expensive, no?) no response received as of a week later.

We had the artichoke grilled cheese and the short rib grilled cheese. The short ribs were cooked perfectly tender and not greasy. Loved the sourdough and multigrain bread. Everything was fresh and full of flavor. Highly recommend!
