The Bay Horse is at the heart of the pretty village of Hutton Rudby, in North Yorkshire, perched on the edge of the Village Green, and ideally placed, close to the A19, with Yarm, Stokesley and Great Ayton close by.



The pub dates back about 300 years, and has a really intimate feel to it. And we’ve recently given it a subtle refresh throughout, creating a tasteful, intimate atmosphere.

    Good wholesome food. Good crusty Chicken pies, seafood dish nicely presented but the burgers were super, especially the blue cheese one!

    Went for Sunday dinner. the beef was not pink as advertised, was a very small serving and full of fat and gristle. Which was a shame as the veg was very nice.

    First to arrive for restaurant so had pick of tables although half were in area where lights were not switched on so felt we had to sit near kitchen. However the service was very good and attentive. Food was delicious, well cooked and plentiful. We didn't feel rushed and felt able to relax and enjoy our meal. One tiny criticism was that menus need to be better presented - were on paper which was stained from previous clients.

    Great restaurant, recommended to us by friends and definitely worth visiting, would not hesitate to go back in the future. Lovely ambience and staff were fantastic and on hand to service every request.
