The Beetle and Wedge Boathouse is tucked away, and perfectly positioned on the most stunning part of the River Thames. The setting is like no other riverside venue which means you can switch off, unwind, and enjoy your precious time with us. The Beetle has played a huge part in many lives over the years and is steeped in literature history, from the Wind in the Willows, to Three Men in a Boat and not forgetting HG Well’s Mr Polly it has truly fascinated all that have discovered its true beauty. Our owner, Ben, has ensured that its character and charm has remained while adding his own magical touch.

    Our recent visit to the Beetle and Wedge was a real pleasure. The warm, welcoming environment added to the enjoyment. The waiting staff were attentive and helpful and the food was well presented and delicious - all in all a most enjoyable afternoon. We definitely plan to go back.

    We had are company Christmas Lunch here yesterday and we had an exceptional meal, the service was charming and the atmosphere was just right. I can personally can recommend the scallops starter and and the Ham hock main course. My colleagues all really loved their meals too.

    Gorgeous venue beside the river which is lovely even on a cold and wintry day. Blazing log burner is warming and cosy to look at. The dog friendly area looked great although we only passed through The access and amenities for older or slightly disabled friends was excellent. Food is always wonderfully presented and tastes good! People serving were friendly and efficient. Thank you for a very pleasant lunch.
