First off, we were placed in a back room, the table wasn’t fully set up as it only had napkins with knives on them…the room was fairly cold as well.
We ordered a pint of coke each (diet for me) and we were brought 2 regular sizes. Initially we thought the waiter had just misheard or misunderstood us so we accepted.
We waited a long time for our food to arrive, I had a roast chicken, my partner had fish and chips. His chips were so overcooked and my chicken was very dry, the roast potatoes were frozen, I can tell they were from an Aunt Bessie’s packet! I also ordered a side of extra pigs in blankets - being priced at £5 I would’ve expected more than 3 of them…
Then we move onto dessert. It took them an age to come and take our dessert order ( I appreciate it was a busy Sunday afternoon, but we were in the back room and easily forgotten about), my partner ordered the crumble and custard which was not only burnt on the top, it concealed and when he asked me to taste it, it literally tasted of golden syrup! Not to mention it was priced at £7 and was absolutely tiny! We asked to speak to the manager and to be fair to her, she did offer my partner a new dessert or a drink but my partner felt it was too little too late at this point. She did take it off the bill for us which i was thankful for.
We asked the waiter for our bill and 5 mins later he came back and asked if we needed anything else…I said yes I asked you for the bill..to which his response was “oh yeah that’s not working right now” ! I’m sorry??! What are we just meant to walk off then??!! He soon came back with the bill and we noticed that they had actually charged us for 2 pints of coke at the beginning of our meal despite bringing us the wrong sizes! But by this point we were both so annoyed we couldn’t be bothered to argue it so we just paid and left.
I felt so embarrassed for recommending this place as I’d only had good experiences before, but this has really gone downhill. I won’t be returning.
