Welcome to the Black Bull.
Tucked away in rural Lancashire, between cloud topped hills, green fields, rolling pastures, and lots of cows... sits The Black Bull Inn.
Nestled in the picturesque village of Old Langho, our stone building has been here since the 1500s. Steeped in history it has it's own warm welcome to travellers from far and wide.
Our menu is fresh, local and has a nice balance of those "pub classics" but brought up to date in modern and inventive ways.
Dog friendly in the bar area or garden, and plenty of cosy seating available in front of our roaring fires, in The Library, or in our gorgeous, beamed, renovated Fire Barn.

The staff were fantastic and made the dining experience extra special. The food was lovely and the whole ambience was relaxed yet very festive. Would recommend this place without a shadow of doubt.

I’m so glad we were able to get a table for lunch with friends on my birthday. Couldn’t believe how beautiful the Fire Barn was all decorated for Xmas! Wonderful food, really lovely staff, and best of all - Dan Merriman, MasterChef Professionals champion this year came out to chat with us - what a privilege to meet this amazing chef and great gentleman.

Very nice restaurant and food , the wine was a little over priced , and there were a few things unavailable from the menu . We were very well looked after by all of the staff however the Service from start to finish was very slow (without any explanation why) , even though the restaurant was fairly quiet .

The food was excellent, though the menu wasn’t as extensive as I anticipated, but the service didn’t reflect the quality of the food. Apart from one member of staff, they were all pleasant enough but perhaps just lacked that little bit of extra attention that can add to the experience. On arrival we were made to feel we had walked into a staff only area by the way the question “can I help you?” was barked in a suspicious way at us. Service was good but it was when it came to paying the bill that things dipped a little. The chap who took the payment was particularly abrupt and rude and overcharged us for dessert’s we hadn’t had. I accept some part in this as I did check the itemised bill, but the print is so small it was difficult to spot dessert’s had been added. Not itemised dessert’s, just a charge for them. You would have expected that if the items themselves were not present, either the system or the staff would query it. I was going to ring and suggest they treat the overpayment as a tip, but he had been so rude I thought better of it. Overall it was ok and we probably would return, but there is perhaps room for improvements in customer service, particularly as it didn’t seem excessively busy at the time.

Staff very friendly, the food, Christmas dinner which had followed on from Gravadlax starter was fabulous. Very lovely venue too
