A classic British pub in the heart of the countryside, close to Castle Coch. We offer a selection of ales, ciders and lagers for the thirsty mountain biker. We pride ourselves on home cooked meals with fresh, local produce - our chips have been rated the best in South Wales! With a range of menu items to please every appetite, including our chefs specials that change daily, The Black Cock Inn offers a warm and friendly welcome to those travelling by foot, car or bike!
We have a dog friendly bar area, as well as an outdoor play park and plenty of seating in our beer garden, perfect for the "sunny" Welsh weather.

    All excellent with excellent beef and turkey portions, Lovell deserts, only minor criticism is the relatively small portion of veg for 5 of us. But the veg was cooked well. Excellent value and great servers.

    The food was lovely and service was excellent. Would definitely recommend. We were overcharged but that was an honest mistake and put right.

    Lovely food, good quality. No vegan option on the holiday menu which was disappointing. I asked a waitress who spoke to the chef and they managed to put together a vegan chilli. My daughter enjoyed it.

    Had booked a table for 2 in the restaurant but were seated in the bar which was noisy. Food was below average. Very dry burger with little taste. Anaemic bacon. Chicken with port and Stilton was uninspiring.

    The food was excellent, however, it was a very busy lunchtime with a party of about 20, with children who were very loud. The service could have been better but this was an isolated experience. We have eaten at the Black Cock before and the food and service was very good. We will definitely visit again.
