Welcome to The Black Friar - the perfect place to come together with friends and loved ones.

With a cozy traditional pub in the front, a sleek, modern restaurant in the back and rooms available for private hire, we can accommodate anything you may need!

Now, let's talk food!
We offer an all day menu that runs from 12pm until we close. It contains classic pub fare such as fish and chips and daily pies but it does not stop there. Our all day menu also contains some amazing elevated dishes giving you modern British cuisine at its best.
Whatever it is you order, our chef, Ben Chaplin, will make sure it's a meal to remember.

If you haven't joined us before, what are you waiting for? Our doors are always open (except when the fire's on!)

Went for a Sunday roast. Very overpriced compared to other options at the same price (e.g. Hawksmoor). Beef was overcooked (no pink in the middle), there wasn't enough of it in proportion to how full the rest of the plate was. Yorkshire's were a bit overdone too. Mash was really good tho. But honestly just go somewhere else. Far too expensive for what it is.

This was our second visit here but on both occasions found the greater a bit sully. We were early so wanted a drink at the bar where the greater was trying to push us onto our table. The waitress were lovely as last time and the food was great.

Went for the vegan Sunday roast, menu says it comes with a Yorkshire pudding but it didn’t so that was very disappointing. Rest of the roast was good but felt lacking. Service was amazing.

Not what it was !!! We were frequent diners here and the food has really gone down hill lately. Had Sunday lunch and everything was dried out. You could tell everything was not made to order but sitting around and simply reheated. Chicken roast was dry to the bone and Black garlic chicken was so dry inside it was barley edible. The tortellini appetizer was simply just weird… every chef knows the only acceptable dish to use raw mushrooms in is a salad. Yet, the tortellini had several raw mushrooms on top. From texture to taste this dish failed miserably !!!! We won’t be back !!!!

Incredible food we had for Sunday lunch. Whilst a little more than most would spend on Sunday lunch it was certainly value for money in my opinion.
