The Bothy is a lovely venue to dine at, decoration is fantastic throughout. We visited for a birthday lunch for my mums 50th, a 'Happy Birthday' sign was added to my mums meal, this was a lovely touch. We found the waitress to be very accommodating when ordering our food, my mum has quite specific dietary requirements at the moment due to going through tests for a gastro problem. This was very much appreciated as I had been apprehensive about what my mum would be able to eat on her birthday.
The reasons I haven't scored higher are because the food took quite a long time to come. We allowed ourselves 2 hours to dine that day, we had another event booked at 3pm, we arrived at 1pm. We were left rushing our food and having to rush up to the till to pay, we were left with that short of time before our next booking. The meals came out wrong too, there were two things brought out that we hadn't ordered. One may have been a mix up with the type of sandwich we had ordered, but the other was completely different to anything we had ordered. The final thing we found a little unusual, not a complaint as such, just a bit odd, my mum had fish and mashed potato with carrots. The carrots were served raw, as carrot sticks, my mum ate them, it was fine, we just found it a little unusual with a hot meal.
I would still recommend people to try the Bothy, I will most likely come again and try something different. I just wanted to feedback about our experience that day.
