Ugh…our first experience at this neighborhood pub was a Sunday roast-which was tremendous. That being said, we decided to return for lunch on a Tuesday, which was not terrific. As during the first visit, service was excellent, but we were only one of two tables, and starters took almost 40-minutes to arrive. I ordered fish and chips as my main, and the chips were barely warm-fish could have been hotter too, but I didn’t mention it. Our server brought replacement chips, but disappointingly, they weren’t triple cooked. During our Sunday there, we finished with the apple pie, which was prob the best I’ve ever had, but being that service was so slow on Tuesday, we didn’t dare chance ordering a pudding and coffee. Anyway, our server didn’t charge us for two large bottled waters, and offered an additional discount-which was appreciated. We gave him an additional tip, because he was courteous and friendly throughout, and we certainly didn’t blame him for the kitchen’s issues. We’ll prob return in the future, and be hopeful that the food experience will be as it was during our first visit.
