The customer service last night was so poor it luckily made our visit quite funny and I know we were not the only group in the pub that felt the same way. Firstly, this poor family were scrutinised without any discretion for having a dog in part of the pub they weren’t allowed to have a dog in, despite a sign outside stating very clearly ‘dog friendly’. This poor family looked mortified and rightfully very disgruntled by the fact they had been called out in front of the whole restaurant on a very rude, indiscreet manner. Our waitress seemed disgruntled by the fact we wanted to order and had absolutely no manners - we felt so unwelcome and awkward that we didn’t want to talk to one another in fear of being told off. When we were served our food, the waitress practically barked our orders at us. The food was mid at best and took an hour to get to us (we were only a small group). Multiple times, the waitress went to take our food away before we had even finished it, we felt so rushed that as soon as we had finished we got up and left just so we could get out of there. We were not the only ones who felt this way, as we could over hear another group making similar comments and we were also exchanging confused looks as to what was going on with the service. We felt like we were on TV show waiting for cameras to come out and tell us we had been pranked. We understand the pressures that staff are under particularly at this time of year, but this was a really unpleasant visit and luckily the service was so awful it was actually entertaining and funny. Usually we would leave a tip, especially at Christmas time, but there was no way we would have with the service we received. I’m not sure what went wrong last night, but it has certainly put myself and my friends off going back anytime soon.
