Chef Collaborative Series

Monique Ruvolo started her professional culinary journey at Cafe Allegro in the early 2000s. At the same time, she and her best friend from college, Nicole Payne, started Above & Beyond Catering. Monique grew up in New Jersey as a first-generation Egyptian American and was inspired by her family's Middle Eastern cuisine and the variety of international flavors in the area. Nicole is a Pittsburgh native and Italian American. Together, they love to create a fusion of flavors and cultures and share their love of food and people with their community. So, in 2018, they opened Above & Beyond Kitchen in their neighborhood of Baldwin, offering private events, pop-up dinners, cooking classes, scratch-made dine-in meals and takeaway baked items
