Castle Hotel food and service was great. Can highly recommend attending if you're after somewhere to get a good quality meal with friends or just have a catch-up over a drink.

From being greeted as we came in, to leaving with very full bellies, the service and food were great. The steak was cooked to perfection, which seems to be rare these days. When we are back in the city, am more than happy to go back and dine again or go for a few drinks.

Food and drink were good standard but service was a disorganized mess. Staff couldn’t find ingredients for cocktails, and confused one of our food orders so it basically eat what they brought or wait another 20 minutes. No refund or even complimentary drink was offered for the failure. Place was less than a quarter full so pressure of orders was not an excuse. I’m sure there are plenty of other places to have lunch on a Saturday where the staff give a hoot.

Meal and service from young guy with glasses and accent was great At end of meal asked for cappuccino and it seemed like a real effort for the tall gentleman that we asked - it wasn’t the same person that had looked after us all day, who was very pleasant - he then passed it over to the other guy as he couldn’t be bothered it was the tall guy that was earlier out chopping wood Our only negative was we were down the bottom section and it was absolutely freezing the open fire place in the corner hadn’t been lit

The tiled floor in the main dining area makes the space very noisy when there are lots of people around. Too many TV screens on walls for my liking; reminds me of an American bar.
