The Chalkboard Kitchen + Bar is a cozy restaurant tucked in the lower level of the historic Ambassador Hotel. Etched in history as one of Tulsa’s most iconic dining experiences, we serve world-class cuisine in a stylish and approachable setting. Chef Tom Daley, a Tulsa native + Oregon Culinary Institute graduate, brings experience from fine dining to farm-to-table and a passion for crafting incredible dishes while giving back to the community. Elegant but approachable, adventurous but reliable, nostalgic but forward-thinking, The Chalkboard Kitchen + Bar infuses the everyday dining concept with exceptional hospitality, presenting an unforgettable experience.



Take a seat a join us on a culinary journey of taste and tradition. The restaurant is open breakfast, lunch and dinner seven days a week and 365 days a year. The Chalkboard bar is a great place to get a classic cocktail before a downtown show or enjoy a bite to eat and great conversation with locals and business travelers alike.

                                            We opened with an appetizer, lamb chops that were chewy, however the slaw was good. My Cajun salmon had no Cajun seasoning and we do much better at home, the duck was better but there was no wow factor to the main meals. We split a wedge salad that was a little too much dressing but well presented & tasty. Our first time at the chalkboard back in 1980 and the early years was so much better. Of course all meals were written on a chalkboard but each meal was so good. Doubt we ever make it back as we were also disappointed with our last visit with friends. It’s sad.

                                            I've been here many times but its never been great. On my last visit, service was slow and the Salmon entree was bland. I may give it another shot but not likely. Too many other great options downtown.

                                            The Chalkboard always has wonderful food and service! They had a full house the day we lunched with them so it was a bit noisy. The service was excellent. I highly recommend giving The Chalkboard a try!

                                            Spent a special anniversary here with the valentines menu, food was exceptional and full of flavor. Service was adequate, it was a busy night but it gave us time to enjoy the dinner. Will be coming back soon to try the full menu
