The Chalkboard Kitchen + Bar is a cozy restaurant tucked in the lower level of the historic Ambassador Hotel.
Etched in history as one of Tulsa’s most iconic dining experiences, we serve world-class cuisine in a stylish and approachable setting. Executive Chef Daniel Gibbs’ refined culinary techniques bring Euro-American style classics to life with The Chalkboard flavor. Elegant but approachable, adventurous but reliable, nostalgic but forward-thinking, The Chalkboard Kitchen + Bar infuses the everyday dining concept with exceptional hospitality, presenting an unforgettable experience for any occasion or no occasion at all.



Take a seat a join us on a culinary journey of taste and tradition. The restaurant is open breakfast, lunch and dinner seven days a week and 365 days a year.                                             It wasn’t offensively bad but I wouldn’t go back. Ribeye was only 1/2” thick and not trimmed very well, ordered medium, delivered medium-well and dry. Béarnaise sauce in ramekin looked like it was pulled from fridge with residual skin showing on top. Mashed potatoes appear to be dropped on plate from an ice cream scoop. So food is pretty rough, like a restaurant that was great decades ago but now relies on cost-cutting and premade bits to support an owner who no longer really cares. Interior environment is really noisy.

                                            One of my favorite Tulsa restaurants! The vibe is great. The food is outstanding. The bartender was so awesome! We actually went 2 nights in a row. Highly recommend the spinach and artichoke dip and the beef Wellington bites! We did a few shared plates so we could try several items. The crab cake was also very tasty. Highly recommend checking it out!

                                            Food was great but service was very slow. We had to wait on our food and drinks once we ordered. When I made the reservation I requested downstairs. They seated us upstairs instead. The restaurant was half full so I checked downstairs a couple of times to see if those tables were still available and they were. By the time we left they had a large table set for a dinner or luncheon for next day. It would’ve been nice if they communicated to us that’s the reason why we didn’t get seated downstairs. They have a new chef and he’s doing a great job. We will be back.

                                            Unfortunately our experience was incredibly disappointing. We were celebrating my Birthday. The plating was awkward. Very small plates😏 difficult to eat the average food. No VISUAL appeal.

                                            Kevin was a terrific server. We had the filet and braised short rib and both were delicious. The bread pudding was divine! A quaint atmosphere! We will return.
