Lunch Menu - Two Courses for £35 / Three Courses for £40

We are an independent restaurant in the heart of Chester offering microseasonal dining with menus designed around what's growing on our farm in Daresbury. Menus change every four to six weeks.

Please note we are currently card-only and unable to accept cash.

As we are located in the historic City Centre, there is no on site parking. The closest paid parking area is the Princes Street Market Car Park, located next to the Town Hall about two minutes walk from our restaurant.

Select this option when booking to surprise your guests with a round of fizz for the table. Whether you're celebrating a milestone occasion or simply treating yourselves to an evening out, it's a great way to make your meal a little more special. Price includes one glass of crémant per person, served just after your party is seated. Drinks will be served after all guests are seated so that everyone can enjoy a toast together. If you are dining with a larger table and would prefer this to be served as each guest arrives, please let us know in the notes at the time of booking.

Food was so tasty, couldn't go wrong with whatever you chose. Service was excellent too. Nice bar area for drinks before and after.... bit cool in there, difficult to avoid the aircon, but a great venue nontheless... will definitely be back.

Absolutely the best place to eat in Chester. Always special with interesting menu choices and an excellent wine list. The food is outstanding and the service is impeccable.

I'm being picky because I really thought it was a 4.5/5. Food was very good but would like a little more sauce/jus/gravy but that's possibly just our taste. We weren't too fussed with the poached pear as the chocolate sauce was too overpowering, but as usual the food was really good and we will be back quite soon.

Fantastic food as always. Service a little slower than usual but not a problem. Tell cleaner to check chairs for marks

Excellent service and delicious food served in a very comfortable environment. Added bonus: a front of house who knew a lot about wine. Thank you for a memorable lunch today. We will be back!

Chefs table used to be one of our favourite places to eat and a real treat. Family know this and my mother in law got us a voucher for Christmas, we were even more delighted when they had 20% in February. Food was delicious but service just lacked what it used to. The welcome, personal touch was lacking. No conversation and my coat not taken. There was also a table with 4 men having a liquid lunch and their laugher was a roar around the room. The waitress came over and asked us if everything was ok but I liked it previously when they explained what you were eating and gave personal recommendations. I think it’s lost its speciality in the new venue and although nice, the service isn’t any different from other mediocre places.

One of the nicest meals I have ever had from start to finish. All staff were very polite, attentive and the service was excellent. There is not one thing I can note as being bad, everything was perfect and the food was amazing. Highly recommend to anyone and I will be returning.
