Paul Friedman is a Master Chef with over 40 years of experience in the restaurant industry,having owned and operated over 50 successful restaurant concepts in South Africa, Germany, and the U.S. Paul began his career as a manager and worked his way up to franchise owner, then Director of Operations.
He opened Paul's Pizza Shops - a nationally recognized pizza concept in Northwest Houston, Texas in 1994.
Paul later developed a new concept, becoming the Executive Chef, CEO and partner at Peli Peli - a nationally recognized South African Fusion Restaurant which opened in 2009 in Houston, Texas. Having retired from Pelipeli in 2018 he has returned to his original location at Vintage Park with his latest concept The Chefs Table.
Chef Friedman says this is by far my best creation yet and I hope to leave a legacy here for my children and grandchildren to be proud of.

My wife and I went with another couple, it was everyone’s first visit. The food was amazing from start to finish. The service was also fantastic. We all talked about our next visit. Our only worry is that it won’t be as good for us the second time. We had the octopus, spinach dip, sea bass, lobster ravioli, pork ribeye, ostrich, and each had a dessert. Looking forward to our next visit.

This is an excellent dining option for a traditional and/or stepping out of your comfort zone experience. Familiar items given an African culinary spin are available and the flavors are handled delicately with a good balance that avoids being too rich and allowing for an exploration of depth. Sides are a la cart, which I appreciate in order to avoid food waste. Full service bar provided excellent cocktails and mocktails, none of which overbalanced sweetness or bitterness. Will return when it's warmer out to experience outside ambiance and see how seasonal offerings change.
