The Coach House, 2x James Beard Award and Jean Banchet Award-nominated Chef Zubair's Mohajir’s latest venture, is a Tasting Menu experience featuring a heavy dose of South Indian flavors whilst avoiding direct tradition. The Coach House is located in the rear of Lilac Tiger's street food location, on Division St.

Our 6-course Tasting Menu rotates seasonally, and is featured on Friday and Saturday nights at 5:45pm and 8:30pm. Our 4-course Pulutan Menu, inspired by the melding of Indian and Filipino cuisines, is offered at 6:30pm Tuesday-Thursday nights.

Your experience can be supplemented with one of our thoughtfully-curated wine and cocktail pairings, or you and your guests can select your sipper from our worldly wine list, elegant cocktails, and vibrant and non-alcoholic signature drinks.

In this 6-course tasting menu experience, curated by James Beard Award-nominated Chef Zubair Mohajir, you will be taken through Chef's food memories of his home in Chennai, Tamil Nadu while also exploring the South Asian subcontinent. The Coach House experience honors age-old traditions while pushing the boundaries of South Asian cuisine. No modifications allowed. Please only let us know of any dietary restrictions and allergies to note. We look forward to serving you.

This menu will explore Filipino street food through our Sous Chef, Jacob dela Cruz, as he will present an exciting perspective on this cuisine, unique to the Coach House. No modifications allowed.     Really interesting and delicious meal. I'm pretty familiar with Indian and pakistani food, but this meal introduced me to different flavor combinations and a more refined presentation compared to desi meal I've had before. We really enjoyed the experience and we will be back!

    One of a kind dining experience!! Chef Mohajir’s creations are a explorative journey through history, time and cultures. You are in for an amazing and unique culinary adventure! Set in an intimate coach house, the intentionally casual and approachable environment invites you to appreciate and explore complex flavor profiles and not be overwhelmed by any of it. The wait staff and cocktails are great too!

    Delicious creative food and lovely staff. Would come back any time. I saw some reviews that people left hungry but I could not finish my third course (Filipino paella) although it was soooo delicious.

    Chef Zubair and his team always delight when visiting this fantastic Chicago gem. My family, friends, and I never miss an evening at The Coach House whenever we visit Chicago. The menu with its tantalizing flavors always pleases the discerning palate even after multiple experiences, a difficult achievement for most establishments.
