A cheery smile awaits you when you enter The Cock Horse. The public bar offers an array of seating, a dart board and an open fire. Perfect for meeting friends for an informal drink and even better for making new ones.
We also offer another informal lounge bar, with high and low tables to suit every taste. This bar also has an open fire and is a great place to relax with a pint and the papers.
We have two specific dining areas and we offer a wide and varied menu. The kitchen opens daily at midday and everyone is welcome to sample our range from the menu or daily specials board – there is something for everyone and we will try our best to accommodate all allergy requirements.
We offer a separate Sunday Menu, which comprises of at least two roast meat options with all the trimmings and homemade Yorkshire puddings and at least one fish and one vegetarian dish.

Staff friendly and smiley. Short menu so was surprised by how many dishes were not available on a saturday evening. Ask for brioche roll to be replaced with a normal roll.. didn't happen. No soup spoon with soup. Pasta dish very bland. Curry also bland. Not a lot of atmosphere as food not served after 8 so very few customers.

Pleasant venue and not too busy- music was occasionally a little loud but not unbearable. Servers were very friendly and polite, but were let down by a lack of knowledge of the menu, sadly shared by the kitchen staff. Ordered a vegan version the roast dinner, which came with a Yorkshire pudding. Luckily we checked, it wasn’t vegan and was taken away- but let me uneasy if the rest of it was suitable (for full disclosure, I am intolerant to dairy so was seeking to avoid this in my meal choice). Main courses tasted nice, though did take a significant time to come to us. Ordered dessert, and was so pleased to see a number of Vegan/ Dairy Free options available. Sadly, one by one these were removed from availability for me. No one seemed to know whether the crumble topping had butter in it (and had thrown the box away so couldn’t check!)- or which accompaniment they had as substitute, so couldn’t risk serving me it. The sticky toffee pudding was listed as having a vegan option, but I was told this was inaccurate. At this point I gave up, as the other option did not appeal and to be honest I no longer trusted it would be suitable for me to eat. I felt for the server who had to return to our table multiple times- but the kitchen need to know what they’re doing when it comes to allergens, and the menu needs to be updated to reflect any changes made to recipes. A shame, because it could have been a really lovely meal without these issues and worried, and these would prevent me being keen to return at this stage.

Very helpful staff, prompt service. Made an effort for my daughters birthday with the dessert. Considering they had a funeral wake coming in too, they were very good. Food was tasty and sensible sized portions. Have been before and will go again.

We had breakfast with Santa and it was very well organised! Our children loved it and the food was nice :-) the only issue we had was the waitress was slow taking our order.

A friend and I visited for lunch, with our toddlers. Table was set up with two high chairs and meals were just what we needed ☺️ thank you

Food was average. We ate Sunday at 4pm. Long wait for 2nd course, not many people in. Gravy was not home made, perhaps ran out. Staff very friendly and helpful. Ran out of apple sauce but only found out when my order of apple sauce arrived but well done to the staff that they hunted to find some. , as they sensed my disappointment and that I wouldn't have ordered the pork if I had known beforehand that there wasn't any apple sauce left.
