After four successful years on the Upper West Side, we are thrilled to be opening our second location, bringing The Consulate’s diverse and global concept to Midtown. We welcome our regulars, new neighbors and friends, to experience the space, which celebrates the French-style bistro of our sister location with a few surprises across the board, ranging from exciting additions to the food & beverage menu to a refreshed design. We look forward to Midtown discovering what The Consulate is all about,” said Restaurateurs Metodija and Kiril Mihajlov.

The Consulate captures the city’s rich diversity and vibrant mix of world influences throughout its concept, food & beverage and design. The idea of The Consulate was born from Metodija’s experience as a foreigner pursuing the American dream in New York City.

Celebrated my wife’s birthday with an amazing dinner. The service and our waiter Gustavo were great. We had the oysters and caviar to start which were fresh and tasted great. My wife had the sea bass for dinner which she found to be better than most others she has had. My filet was cooked to perfection, tender, and seasoned well. We could not have asked for a better night. The ambiance of the restaurant is perfect for a quiet and romantic dinner.

We went for a dinner before our broadway show. The service was great! Loved that our waiter Gustavo was friendly and attentive, and was able to help us with any questions we had about the menu. Food and drinks were great!!! Only thing I could say that we prefer our steak not pre cut for us. I wish we were informed that that’s the way they present it.

Superb and excellently prepared food. Location is quiet comfortably atmospheric just off the busiest of places and streets. Nice spot for a romantic dinner.

Made reservation on OpenTable and got to restaurant and they said they couldn’t seat us. They took walk in right before us. Very disorganized.

Our food and drinks were excellent, as was the service. We had made the reservation to enjoy the pre-theater fixed menu, as advertised. When we arrived and inquired, we were told it was not available on the weekends. We had not seen this on the website, so we felt a bit disappointed. However, we still had an enjoyable experience.

The food was good and the space was nice. The service was good. The prices were definitely on the high side. The most disappointing thing was I don’t think they used real orange juice in the mimosa. It should’ve been fresh squeezed but I don’t even think it was actual orange juice. The condiments for the Bloody Mary were very hard to get off the pick I think they had been prepared well in advance so they were stuck.

Food was quite good. However, their website advertises a pre-theatre price fix ($65 per plate) and when we arrived and were seated, we were told that was not available. In truth, it's why we made the reservation. Disappointing!
