Lovely lunch for a birthday meal. Fish and chips had a beautiful light batter and fab chunky chips. Pork belly was so tender and just fell apart, my Husband enjoyed every bite. Beef and pancetta burger was also spot on. Service was quick. Good atmosphere and I also bought two amazing sausage rolls to take away. Very keen to return again soon!

We went on a Sunday and the restaurant was really quiet which affected the ambience. I’ve eaten at the Crown many times and not had this experience when the restaurant is busy. I think this had an effect on the waiting staff as because they were quiet, they were a little over attentive. Will definitely go back though!

The food took an absolute age to come - we wont be returning - this isnt a one off it happened again last time we visited also

This was our second visit in just under four weeks. Slightly disappointing that the lunch menu hadn't changed although the food was as excellent as on the previous occasion. When I booked I was asked if there were any dietary restrictions and we were also asked this again when we arrived. As the couple we were dining with both had either allergies or diabetes issues the waiting staff were very attentive and checked with the chef regarding everything that was selected with great patience and the kitchen staff amended a couple of the dishes. All in all another lovely meal and we'll definitely be back again.

Food wasn't overly hot. Thefilletvsteak was really bad. Had lots of gristle had to send back. But they did offer a free dessert. But considering you pay £28 for the steak £7 off didn't seem that generous.

We stayed at the Crown for a long weekend and decided to dine here too, having enjoyed meals here on previous stays in the area. The food is beautifully presented, and very tasty, the wine is good and the staff very attentive, friendly and efficient. Thoroughly recommend The Crown for fine dining.

The steaks were excellent and the service was very good. All the dishes were well presented and did not disappoint on the taste. Really good deserts.

Had another lovely dinner at the Crown last Sunday evening. Always a good range of choices, including vegetarian options. Service was charming and welcoming. Full enough to have a bit of atmosphere, but not so busy and loud that we couldn't have a decent conversation. They very kindly brought out a special desert for my husband's birthday, even though I hadn't thought to ask for it when I booked. So lucky to have this place on my doorstep.
