The dining room was comfortable, traditional with soft music playing quietly. As our booking was before 8pm there was a fixed menu so choices were limited. The food was ok but a little underwhelming, however the restaurant staff were very pleasant.

I have eaten here and stayed at the hotel many times with not a bad thing to say. Unfortunately on this occasion everything was poor, I had to wait atleast 20 minutes for drink to be brought whilst we read the menu. The food and service was terribly slow and frustrations amongst all people in there was felt. My table was booked at 18:45 I didn’t get out until 21:20 for 3 course. Very frustrating. Also the desert was to come with ice cream but we weren’t informed at the time of ordering that there was no ice cream available on the day and the waitress was none the wiser of what was supposed to be served from the menu, this wasn’t reduced off the final bill either and only a drink token offered of which at this point you can imagine my partner and I wanted to get gone. Very disappointing from previous experiences. Won’t be rushing back.

It was very nice, the staff were very helpful and food was good the only thing that let it down was lack of atmosphere as it was really quite.

Had a three course meal with a bottle of wine using a special groupon offer. The meal was very good, good choice and good portions. the wine was a restricted choice however what we had was really nice. The waitress was pleasant and the service very good. Whole experience was ver good. Would recommend, and certainly return. Thank you

Excellent service and food at this wonderful restaurant in this beautiful hotel. We had a fabulous meal which we thoroughly enjoyed. High quality of good. Absolutely delicious. The service we received from who we think was the Restaurant Manager was outstanding and we were sorry not to get his name as would like to say thank you very much. Our booking was 6pm last Saturday as we were going to the theatre and they made sure we were ready in time without being rushed. Service from Daniel was also outstanding and thank you very much to him for wonderful service too. We had a fabulous time here. Thank you, we will be back soon.

Afternoon tea with an Alice in Wonderland theme. Not what we received. Poorly made sandwiches on cheap white bread. Fillings were cheese, cheese (again), egg mayo and ham. Once delivered that was it! No one came near us to see if we required more drinks or if everything was ok. Only us and another small party there. Obvious the reason for it as every other tea room in Harrogate was busy. Shame really as the Crown Hotel is really an impressive venue.

afternoon tea very disappointing. sandwiches supplied not what was on the menu, and tea and coffee served in small pots. Also seated in bar which was not conducive to an afternoon tea.

We booked in for Afternoon Tea at The Crown as a special offer via a third party website. The third party we booked through gave us a link to follow to book our visit and offered 5:30pm as a time, which we chose. When we arrived at the hotel, we were informed that Afternoon Tea stopped being served at 4pm and they had my booking down as an evening meal. We explained that we had booked via a third party website and that they had offered the time of 5:30pm. As it wasn't our fault, the hotel very graciously offered to honour our booking and served Afternoon Tea for us. We weren't expecting that at all and were very grateful! The food, staff and atmosphere were all wonderful and we would highly recommend visiting The Crown - we will definitely be going again!

Overall experience was nice the room we sat in had little ambiance but the staff on duty did his best due to the fact the hotel had a games conference on and children running about in the bar area. Constantine was lovely he gave excellent service smiled all the time very polite tried his best to ensure we were happy. Such an asset to the hotel.

Sunday afternoon tea. We were the only guests. No atmosphere. No tablecloth. No attentive service. Enough food but bland and boring. I will not return to this hotel. It's outdated, expensive and the whole experience was really very disappointing. We even got charged for one soft drink because my teen doesn't drink tea or coffee..very mean.
