Located in St. Sampsons Square - a historic part of York’s city centre known for selling great meat since the 12th century - The Cut & Craft York is widely considered one of York’s best steak restaurants.

Boasting its own in-house master butcher and a signature 10oz Flat Iron steak, this elegant restaurant is stylishly decorated with historic features throughout. Open daily for lunch and dinner, with brunch and roasts on the weekends, it’s centrally located close to the famous mediaeval York Shambles and under the shadow of York Minster.

Named 'Restaurant of the Year' at the Yorkshire National Business Hero Awards in 2023 and 2024, The Cut & Craft combines contemporary steak and seafood dishes with a premium list of locally-crafted drinks.

    Great little find in the center of York. We were pleasantly surprised by the quality in all aspects. Great service from Jamal, Sara and Kessuv. We will return next time we’re in York.

    I booked the Cut and Craft for my friends special birthday. I opted for the Prosecco on arrival with a Christmas cracker and place names ❤️ The service was incredible. Food beautiful and ambience stunning. This was my first visit. Would highly recommend. Thank you for making my friends birthday so special.

    Long time waiting for a table, even though we had booked and arrived early. The starters were ok, bit bland and very standard. Mains good apart from one which was again very basic

    From the moment we entered the building the service was outstanding,confirming our booking and showing us your table,confirming my birthday. Not wanting a large meal we opted for fish and chips and a burger meal both arrived in good time and the good as I expected was 1st class. We had a couple of drinks and paid .a truly enjoyable birthday meal. Thankyou
