Located in historic Blagden Alley in D.C.'s Shaw neighborhood since 2015, The Dabney continues to pay tribute to the wonderful farmers, watermen, and purveyors of the mid-Atlantic region whom provide some of the best and most unique products in the country. We celebrate these ingredients by preparing them in a large wood burning hearth which is the centerpiece of our open kitchen. The current dining room experience is an 8-course tasting menu honoring the Mid-Atlantic's bounty. We offer an additional 3-course experience at our bar and bar area tables. Walk-in guests are welcome to enjoy the bar area as well.

The Dabney has been awarded one Michelin star every year since 2017, James Beard Foundation Best Chef Mid-Atlantic for Chef Jeremiah Langhorne in 2018, and Washingtonian Magazine's #1 restaurant in 2023.

At this time we are unable to accommodate severe allium and dairy allergies as well as vegan and vegetarian diets.

    Price: $235 /person Experience the best of the Mid-Atlantic region with a special 8-course tasting menu in The Dabney's hearth lit dining room. The seasonal menu reflects the soul of our beloved mid-Atlantic: with every ingredient representing the history of the region we call home. We are limited in our ability to modify our tasting menu, specifically for severe allium, capsaicin, and dairy allergies as well as vegan and vegetarian diets. A 20% service charge is included in the final bill to ensure our entire staff earns a competitive wage. Gratuity is welcomed but not expected. Any cancellations made under 24 hours of the scheduled reservation time will be subject to the full cost of the 8-course experience.

    this was one of the best dining experiences we have had 1n 50 plus years of Michilin starred restaurants. it should have three stars.

    We loved our dinner and wine pairings, but recommend against the late (7:45 pm) reservation. Service started out strong but then got VERY slow and we found it hard to even get the server's attention as they were occupied with closing up for the evening. What should have been a 2-hour dinner took more than 3. The hostess was also not what you'd expect for a Michelin star restaurant. We got there early and she said to sit at the bar and she'd alert us when our table was ready, but she forgot so we had to go to her 45 minutes later. Turns out we could have been seated much earlier.

    Mooi, informeel restaurant, op hoog niveau. Op ons verzoek werd de wijn pairing aangepast naar vooral Amerikaanse wijnen, dat is voor Europeanen toch bijzonderder. Helaas ging de avond beetje als nachtkaars uit: ons dessert vonden we beiden écht niet lekker en lieten we grotendeels staan. Dat vertelden we ook de bediening, maar die wist zich hiermee geen raad. Na afrekenen was er ook niemand meer om ons uitgeleide te doen, voelt dan beetje katerig als je net 1000 dollar hebt uitgegeven.

    Great food, unique flavor combinations and artistic presentation of each course. Very comfortable atmosphere and friendly staff. Thoroughly enjoyed the evening. Highly recommend!
