Set in the heart of the beautiful Kent countryside, The Duck offers a menu that brings together modern and traditional pub fare.

Our dishes are expertly prepared focussing on the finest locally sourced, seasonal ingredients ensuring a memorable dining experience for all.

With local ales and wines - the most local coming from a bijou vineyard a stones throw away from our front door - plus a Gastro pub menu focussed on the best of the season and using local ingredients - did i mention our beef comes from the cows in the field over the road? Head Chef Kyle and his formidable Kitchen team are dedicated to providing you with an unforgettable dining experience.

    So delighted The Duck has reopened! Excellent lunch, delicious, beautifully presented. It was good to see it full, with excellent, attentive service. Will be back regularly

    We booked for lunch and again we had a most enjoyable meal. We opted for two different starters…..the hens egg with smoked haddock and the liver parfait with pickled walnut and treacle soda bread. Both were unusual, well present and tasty. We both chose the braised pork belly for the mail course which was well cooked and presented, apart from the pork fat potato which seemed hard and we felt could have been improved with more cooking……and also been hotter! Sadly, only one of us had room for the dessert which was again out of the ordinary…….warm frangipani with cream, rhubarb and cinnamon ice cream. This was delicious ( i tried a spoonful as the waitress asked us if we would like an extra spoon….. which we appreciated and was thoughtful) . All in all, it was a most enjoyable lunch, only spoilt to some extent by an excitable group of nine on a close table…..but that is something that was just unfortunate. Other times we have been to the Duck, there has been no problem and the ambience has been peaceful and pleasant. The two waitresses were very attentive and added to our overall enjoyment of the lunch.

    The new menu for 2025 was totally delicious, the chicken terrine and the hens egg super scrumpy… fabulous burger and amazing cod in curry sauce - see you soon

    Slow service, then told to vacate our table quickly! Food was mixed, roast nice, but potatoes were steamed as hidden under meat and not enough of them, or veg. Friend was disappointed with fish pie. Won't be returning.
