Welcome to The Duke of Oxford, a Gastro pub/restaurant. We are an independent, family run business in the centre of Weston Super Mare. We serve premium beers, wines and spirits, as well as a delicious a la carte menu using as much locally sourced produce as possible.

Come in and relax in this eccentric environment; Everyone is welcome, including your furry friends!

Booked a table with room for a pushchair, no room for a pushchair. Was given menu with Sunday roast and other options - went to order other options - not available. Order was overlooked due to an issue we didn't understand so had a very long wait for food and only offered a 10% discount. When food eventually came was cold so had to be sent back!

Hello! We are sorry the Duke didn’t meet your high expectations! Our Sunday menu is advertised on our website, clearly stating that on a Sunday we focus on serving great roasts, with a selected few items from our regular menu to accompany the Sunday roasts. We recommend in future getting in touch to check what menu will be available if you are unsure what is served on Sunday Roasts day! Thanks again for taking the time to write this review.

Food was delicious, staff friendly and helpful, good atmosphere if a little too noisy for the older members of the group. Very grateful for the team making a fuss of my son on his birthday. Would definitely recommend!

The chicken with Mac and cheese wasn’t value for money due to a small portion and the chicken was overcooked. We had to prompt a member of staff to order after being sat for 25 mins and the wait for food was long without being told on ordering the expected wait time which was frustrating as we had the cinema booked and had to rush our meals to leave in time even though our table was booked 2 hours before the time we had to leave.

Venue is nice. Service was dreadful. Food ok but items which were not available were not communicated to diners until you are actually ordering or have ordered and are waiting dor food.

We are sorry some items were not available on the day of your visit - during the Xmas period, deliveries are not always available and during our extremely busy periods such as the festive period, some items may not be available! Great food and service, good value for money, very festive and great atmosphere. We've eaten here several times before. It's a great pub and I love the fact it's like a traditional pub and not too restaurant like. You can eat here or just relax and have a drink.

Overall experience was positive. Great atmosphere, food was amazing and value for money was good. However we booked a table and it felt a little cramped like they had tried to squeeze in as many table and chairs as physically possible, which lead to being able to overhear other people’s conversations. That being said we will definitely return.

Roast dinners were lovely, roast potatoes were crispy, plenty of vegetables and meat was moist with lots of gravy. They were playing the piano which was lovely and they welcome doggies!
