The Durham Ox is a family owned traditional village Inn offering friendly and efficient service; showcasing the best of local produce in our menu, as well as stocking an extensive range of wines and cask ales. An award winning traditional pub complete with flag stone floors, exposed beams, oak panelling and roaring fires in winter.
(We have dog friendly tables, but these are limited so please do call us to secure one if your dog is dining with us.)
As well as our extensive restaurant areas, The Durham Ox has several spaces for Private Dining to celebrate any occasion and can seat between 10-85 guests for a formal or informal dinner. For those wishing for over-night accommodation there are five converted farm cottages that provide a peaceful and charming place to stay, the converted Studio Suite located above the pub and a self catered cottage in the village, Ivy Cottage that sleeps up to 6 people.

We embrace the principle of good food, we have always used the freshest and best of ingredients and buy locally wherever possible. Our Menu celebrates a fabulous array of locally sourced meats, vegetables, fresh fish and seafood. <br />

We have a first floor Private Dining Suite with dining room and sitting room, which can be reserved exclusively for any occasion. Our Private Dining Suite seats up to 22 for a formal sit-down meal. We also have the Ox Barn available from 25 to 80 guests for weddings, dinners, parties, and much more..please contact us if you would like more details.

We are situated in the historic village of Crayke, less than 30 minutes from York City Centre. <br />Nearest airports are Teeside or Leeds and we are 90 minutes from Manchester. The nearest railway stations are York or Thirsk. <br />There is a good Bus service from Easingwold to York.

My favourite lace to eat , food excellent could die for the Scollops and the grand Marnier Craps , first time we have had Sunday lunch but will go Again . I said if it was your final meal of your life it would be here I picked to have it thank you for excellent meal

As always a wonderful visit to the Durham Ox. Cosy atmosphere, attentive service and a superb menu. The food and wine were all excellent and I look forward to my next visit.

Always a great place to have lunch. Fabulous, friendly, helpful people on the team and the ambiance is everything you'd want from a traditional country inn. We had set menus and they were very good indeed, and there's pretty much everything on the main menu that anyone could possibly desire. It's a top quality place.

Excellent lunch, good service (although young lad did confuse turkey and pork). Wonderful touch with deserts for the birthdays we were celebrating - already booked for March next year.

The food was as good as ever, it is the start of Christmas bookings so the service was slightly slower than normal. A very enjoyable evening!

Great meal, celebrating their 25 year anniversary. A nice menu. good food, cooked well. Lovely cozy pub, which looked extra special with the Christmas decorations and lights!

2nd time to the Durham OX. It was so good the 1st time we brought friends with us this time. Service is great. Very attentive staff. Atmosphere is comfy and cozy. Food is fantastic. The destination is about a 40 minute drive for us but absolutely worth it. I highly recommend anyone going for a visit. I look forward to our next one.
