Award-winning Executive Chef Dan Wecker shares his passion and dedication through seasonal menus boasting a fusion of New American and French- Inspired dishes -- the perfect balance of classic and creative cuisine. A thoughtful wine list and signature cocktails start the adventure. Signature Cream of Baltimore Soup and Chef's own pan mustard sauce for crab cakes are a notable twist. On-site Green House and Mushroom house add to the intrigue. Finally, in-house desserts will add a memorable sweet ending to your experience. Our circa 1744 Tavern Restaurant, 1810 Manor House along with 12 acres of grounds and gardens makes for the perfect dining escape. intersecting literature, history and geography as story with our food.     I wanted to take my mother someplace very nice for dinner and the Elkridge Furnace Inn went ABOVE and BEYOND!!! We started with sautéed mushrooms, which are grown locally and prepared fresh. The cream of Baltimore soup was the best variation of a cream of crab soup that we ever have ever experienced. Mum got the Fish Du Jour, which was a delicious Rockfish served with an oyster, mushroom, shrimp & white wine, seafood velouté. I got the 6oz Filet Mignon. My steak was perfectly cooked … it was so delicious and tender. The best broccolini I have ever had in my life and I am a “broccolini snob”. We ended with us each getting dessert… mum got the crème brûlée and I got the apple dumpling with a side of salted caramel ice cream. I’ve never seen my mum eat something so fast. Lol. I had to keep telling her to pace herself. I couldn’t finish my dessert… it was just TOO BIG! Lol. I took it home and had it for breakfast the next day. Chef Dan and his wife Donna stopped by our table to check in on our dining experience, which really touched my mum. The entire staff, from the servers to the bartenders were so friendly and welcoming. Our server was Audrey and she was very knowledgeable and attentive. The serving assistant, Dawson, made sure mum’s coffee was always topped off. I’m very much looking forward to our next visit to the Elkridge Furnace Inn!!!

    This was a disappointing experience. I have previously had excellent meals at the EFI. Tonight, my grilled romaine salad with butternut squash had no discernible squash, past-their-prime polenta croutons and seemed skimpy overall. The Crabcakes were small and mediocre. One of our party had an outstanding delmonico steak, but overall, we were underwhelmed and don’t plan to return.

    Our annual Thanksgiving dinner at the Furnace Inn was another exquisitely prepared feast. Delicious food, wine and atmosphere. Thank you to Chef Dan and his entire staff for a lovely day. A special thank you to Audrey. Your attentiveness was very much appreciated.

    Thanksgiving, seated immediately, waited 30 min to see waitress . She informed us that a server had called out so they were very short staffed. Drinks took a long time to come out,soups came cold. 1 hour after we arrived salad was served. Main course tasty and warm. Wanted another drink but couldn't catch waitress. Desserts were great. Overall at table for 3+ hours!

    First time at this historic restaurant, which I had never visited before for a very important occasion. The staff was impeccable in greeting and taking care of us throughout the evening. They went above and beyond to acknowledge the important occasion and provide an exceptional seating position right by the fireplace. The main courses were exceptional. My partner had the rabbit, which was absolutely scrumptous, albeit a little salty for her liking. Only if it had been served with a starch to cut that saltiness, then it would have been perfect. I had the rock fish special, which was hearty but also light. It was exactly what I was looking for after a Saturday of Friendsgìving. The creme brulee for dessert was really good, although the custard was slightly unset. Overall, it was a wonderful evening and meal. We will be back.
