Welcome to the Engine Room
Great quality food, produced from fresh and locally sourced produce, is teamed with a fantastic range of drinks – from soft drinks, and beers to cocktails.     Very disappointed with our experience, the food atmosphere and drinks were lovely however the service was poor. The staff were lovely but it took too long for the food and drinks took 20 mins to arrive from ordering it wasn’t like we went at peak time it was really quiet as table was booked at 5.30 , this is what ruined our experience.We had to leave most of our food as we needed to be at the theatre we got sat in our seats just as curtain went up very disappointed

    Always lovely food & service but unfortunately on this visit I didn’t like where I was sitting. However restaurant was very busy so that’s good.

    Table wasn’t ready when we arrived. Lovely waitress. Had to ask for mains as we had waited a very long time and were about to go into the music venue. One of the party had fish and was very dissatisfied.

    I visit here regularly pre match and it’s always spot on in terms of both food and drink. This visit was with my wife pre cinema and again absolutely spot on. The whole place is a credit to Sunderland.

    Beetroot risotto outstanding. Fair price for the food - as in similar prices elsewhere - but everything is always impressive. Nice service, cordial atmosphere and no tips added to the bill!

    Both me and my husband ordered fish and chips, the chips mushy peas and curry sauce was really nice but the fish was terrible, it was all batter and a tiny bit of hard fish inside, struggled to even cut it, however my grandson had steak and he said that was nice.

    I have dined here several times and can honestly say that every single time has been outstanding. The service is impeccable, the ambiance is perfect and the food superb.
