The Fat Duck Restaurant, Heston Blumenthal, awarded three Michelin stars, restaurant of the year, Best Restaurant in the World and Best Restaurant in the UK.
A self-taught chef, Heston Blumenthal's route to the top has been an unconventional one, involving rule-breaking, unusual experiments and an exploding oven. His work researches the molecular compounds of dishes so to enable a greater understanding of taste and flavour. His original and scientific approach to the molecular breakdown of cuisine has teamed him with fellow chefs, scientists and psychologists throughout the world.
His restaurant, The Fat Duck, opened in 1995 and was awarded its third Michelin star in January 2004.

Parking is available in The Hinds Head car park, opposite The Fat Duck, which is patrolled by a security guard in the evening. In addition there are two village car parks. The first is on the right soon after the bridge. The second, slightly nearer car park is on the left at the other end of the village, opposite the cricket club.
Public transit
By Rail<br>The journey from London Paddington to Maidenhead takes 40-50 minutes. The Fat Duck is a five-minute taxi ride from the station.

The Fat Duck is truly an exceptional dining experience. More than just an outstanding high end meal, I'd say it's more akin to going on a sensory journey. It's obviously not for every pocket, but if you can afford to splurge for a special occasion I recommend you visit it if only once in your life. You won't regret it.

Quite simply the BEST dining experience ever, from start to finish this is just not a normal meal, its a theatrical dining experience on a whole new level. 14 courses over approx 4hrs will not leave you disappointed! Looking forward to going back once it re opens in September 2015!

This is not a place for "dinner". Rather, it is an exquisite place for a cutting edge dining experience that taps into more senses than just the taste buds. Extraordinary.

Although the meal was extremely pricey, we viewed it as a dinning experience with a show. On a short unexpected trip to the UK from Canada, my son suggested this restaurant, being one of the most premiere restaurants in the world, and we were astonished that there was room for two in late December! How could we pass this up, especially given that is was set to close in just a few days and relocate to Melbourne Australia. The dishes were out of this world, with very special ingredients. I was afraid of the snail porridge, but fear was conquered and it was fine. The hot and iced tea was quite nice. An the egg, wow! Definitely a must try once in your life time.

had a lovely time returning to the fat duck...a little surprised to see the menu had not changed very much since my last visit 4 years ago. To be truly critical I would say there are too many seafood/fish dishes. The server could have given a bit more of an explanation to the dishes as last time our waiter gave us a very in depth story to the food which truly enhanced the experience. I would suggest the menu completely change every year/2 years I would be hesitant to return without a brand new menu.. Despite this small criticisms..if this is your first visit then it would of course be magical!
