Once the church formed part of the medieval parish of North Marston, then in Buckinghamshire, and the renowned Rector Sir John Schorne (died 1314) who was deemed a holy man and miracle worker with gout and toothache sufferers, is reputed to have cast the devil, old Jack, into a boot here, giving rise to the Jack in a Box toy! The only devil you will find at the French Horn today though is the delicious devilled kidneys from our menu which we believe offers a truly gastronomic selection for all tastes and combined with the excellent wine selection and ale cellar, we think you will understand why the good Rector didn’t want any interruption to his feasting! Whether your occasion is a casual meal in the beamy bars or lovely gardens or a cosy group in the restaurant, the French Horn gives you the choice to dine however your occasion requires.
