This historic landmark serves Breakfast daily, 2 Course Prix Fixe Lunch Monday-Thursday and an enchanting Afternoon Tea on Friday and Saturday. The Garden Court features a stained glass dome, Italian marble columns, Austrian crystal chandeliers and is noted on San Francisco’s Historic Register as Landmark #18. Our Executive Chef invites you to try our signature crab salad lightly dressed in our own Green Goddess Dressing, a true Palace original created in 1923.

                                                                          It was Sunday and the only available brunch option is a buffet. The once stunning and formal room is now operated like an all-you-can eat chain. The architecture is still grand, but you should only look up, not down at the furnishings or the clientele. Sad. I remember when it was different. Cost for two with a tip: $125.

                                                                          As other reviews have stated the service here is insanely slow. I only saw one waiter who took orders for the whole restaurant the entire time we were there and then 4-5 servers who would drop food off to the tables. They were super nice but you shouldn’t have to wait 30minutes just to place your order. Need something? Good luck because you won’t see your waiter again until your plates are mostly empty. We spent $160 per person with no alcohol. The sandwiches were plain toast straight from the fridge with minimal bland toppings. The desserts were whatever, tasted like stuff you could get from a grocery store. The garden court tea tasted good. Do yourself and your pocket a favor and go to Lovejoy’s instead.

                                                                          Above all was the service. The food was generally good but not top notch, at least for the weekend brunch. The ambience, although it no longer has the incredible lush palms, the Garden Court once had, still retained an air of grand elegance.

                                                                          This was the worst and most expensive buffet we have ever had. The service was miserable. After 25 minutes I had to wave down a host to get us a server. It still took another 10 minutes to get drink orders. It was not overly crowded but the server was disappearing for 10-15 minutes at a time. I had to reorder my hot chocolate twice. At least it was hot. The only other hot item was the oatmeal- if I dig down to the bottom of the pot. The cut fruit was tastless and all the buffet items that would be hot were cold. The bacon, eggs & potato’s all cold. In total we ate I bowl of oatmeal, and a muffin for my husband. The bill was 104.00. We will NEVER go again. I complained but nothing was offered as a solution- “could I heat that” or anything! So rude and so simple to fix. Disgusting and disappointing. Beware.

                                                                          We are family of 3 who came for 10 AM breakfast. I can pretty critical but surprisingly, this place was quite nice. The ambience is definitely on another level, the food, which I was expecting to be the worst, was decent. Not luxurious but also not as bad as the other reviewers. Yes, there was warm and even freshly made eggs benedict. The only negative of the buffet was the lack of guidance (we weren’t guests of the hotel) and some of the choices ran out—makes sense to reserve for earlier. The service could’ve been better, a long line was there and it seemed disorganized. Overall for 3, a bit overvalued yet the ambience made up for everything. Would come back.

                                                                          Food was terrible. Every year we visit this hotel around Christmas, this was the worst experience. No maple syrup next to french toast, bacon was soggy, dim sum was all broken apart, egg benedict didn't even had yolk. No cream cheese next to bagel. Used to have cook to order omelet, but disappeard. Embassy suite free breakfast is much better than this, downgrade from 5 stars to 2 stars. $48 per adult and $29 per kid. Terrible. Best thing on the buffet was cereal. Idk if the Chef was changed, but management should do something about this. Christmas tree was beautiful but that's about it.
