Located across the street from Historic Rocky Mountain College on Poly Drive, The Granary has been a landmark restaurant in Billings, MT for nearly 50 years! Originally built in 1935, the Granary served as the milling department for Billings Polytechnic Institute until World War II when they closed the doors.

The recent remodel in 2022 breathes new life into a historic building. Accents of rough cut timbers and cold rolled steel run throughout the Dining room and Bar giving the building a modern feel while keeping the spirit of Billings History alive.

This is an absolutely wonderful spot either for a quiet, intimate dinner or something more relaxed and lively in the bar. It is absolutely one of my favorite spots in town, love the atmosphere. Our service was top notch, very attentive, very friendly.

Could not be more disappointed in the food and the Customer Service. We had a 6:30 reservation and we did not receive even a glass of water or a server come to our table for over 20 minutes. They continue to walk past our table not even saying just a moment please or anything. It took quite some time after that to even receive our first drink. Around an hour and 45 minutes into it after we had ordered another drink and still had not received our food, we sat and watched our drinks sit at the bar made for over 20 minutes. We had to walk up the the server to ask if we could have them. We finally received our food almost 2 hours later, and it was absolutely terrible. We both ordered steaks “medium” and one was well done, the other didn’t looked cooked at all inside. The potatoes with it were so dry you had to wash them down with water. At this point we were done on patience. . We had to leave and grab Wendy’s. This was our Valentine’s dinner. We will never go back. The table next to us was having a terrible experience as well. Would never recommend.

While it’s a beautiful building, the restaurant isn’t great. Food is subpar and takes incredibly long to receive it.

Overall, it was pretty good. It was easy to make reservations, there was no wait to be seated, even though we were early. Our waitress was quick, efficient, and very personable. While the food was very good, the menu selection was smaller than expected. I would go again.

Lackluster. Expected better. Boring menu selections. Weird food combinations. Mashed parsnips in place of potatoes... not good....

Server was fantastic. Friendly, knowledgeable, personable, and pleasant. Food did take a little while, but they had a large grouping place their order before us. Food was excellent and reasonably priced.

My family and I ate here last night. The service was absolutely terrible. It took over and hour to get our food. My son ordered spaghetti and it was so spicy he couldn't eat it. We sat with empty drinks the whole time, server never checked in. All around we were very disappointed, we were excited to try something new but failed. I understand being busy and maybe forgetting but simply not apologizing for anything was unacceptable.

Delicious food in a clean, attractive restaurant. Menu is regularly updated. The French Onion soup was amazing but all the food was great.

My husband and I, along with a friend, enoyed a dinner at The Granary on New Year's Eve. The mood was festive, the food was very good, but what really stood out was our server. Ash made sure that our drinks, food and entire evening was just what we wanted.
