On arrival, we were given a menu for Mother's Day. On the top of the menu, it stated 4 courses €35 or Al a carte. When the waitress came over to take our orders, we asked if it was only the mothers Day menu we could order from or the regular one. As the top of the menu said or Al a carte, one would assume you could order off the regular menu. We were told just the Mother's Day one. We proceeded to order, and my husband chose the turkey and ham, only to be told that it wasn't available. Starters arrived and were nice. The main course took quite a while to arrive. We felt forgotten. We also had to ask for water for the table as no one asked if we would like to order drinks or want water. My main course was the salmon. It should have been served with garlic potatoes, but instead came with mash without any hint of garlic. My mum and my husband ordered the chicken, they said it was nice, but the pepper sauce was on the spicy side and mum felt like gravy would have been a more suitable choice or it could have been offered as an option. Mum had asked whether she could get a Yorkshire pudding with hers, and the girl taking the order said yes, but she didn't get one. Finally, after nearly 2 hours, we ordered dessert and tea and coffee. I asked for coffee and bought tea. So my husband had to tell someone.
When we came to pay the bill, we were charged more than expected, so I asked why this was. It was eventually sorted, and we were refunded the extra we had paid. It felt like no one really knew what they were doing that some staff need to listen more to their customers. Also, there was a Mother's Day offer of a €50 voucher for mum's off entertainment at the theatre. My mum wasn't given this. I would think twice about going again on Mother's Day. It felt like they hadn't enough staff for how busy it was.
