I am absolutely gobsmacked by the positive reviews this place has because our meal was comically bad. This is like the kind of place Gordon Ramsay visited on the original Kitchen Nightmares to help them figure their kitchen out and give them a menu they could actually handle. I basically never leave a negative review but wow was I deceived by all the positive ones on here and mostly I want to warn people. I expected this to be a place that was trying to imitate some of the nicer restaurants in downtown Denver but I also expected it to miss the mark some yet still be a solid attempt with a decent burger and steak. Unfortunately, I don't know if it was the time of year or what, but the food was basically inedible. The baked feta was okay, but also it's baked cheese and bread. The accompanying garlic confit, peppers, etc all seemed to have come from different jars. The burger my husband ordered "tasted like meatloaf" and had two huge rubbery hunks of smoked cheddar on it that I wouldn't even put on a cracker. My strip steak was comically late by comparison, which honestly doesn't bother me so much as the fact that I think it was late because they didn't know how to properly cook a steak to temperature. I have never had a NY strip set before me cut into three pieces. This restaurant has no business offering a tomahawk. The temperature was actually okay on the steak, to their credit, but it was seasoned poorly and the vegetables offered were frankly embarrassing. No one wants a plate full of beets and steamed greens. Even people who like beats don't want that. I've also never had a demi glaze that looked like ranch dressing and tasted like vinegar. Every time the waiter came by he had the vibe that he was expecting me to chew him a new one or not tip, like it happens to him a lot. Of course, I tipped well, and the drinks and ambiance were good. I would honestly turn this into a tapas bar with $10-15 small plates this kitchen could handle because this isn't it.
