The Grill at Hacienda del Sol is one of Arizona's top restaurants located in a beautiful setting at the base of the Catalina Foothills. Breathtaking mountain and city views are captured from The Grill dining room where you will be treated to Spirited Southwestern Hospitality and a remarkable menu featuring local ingredients from the resort's own organic gardens, local purveyors, and growers.

The Grill wine list, with over 800 selections, was twice bestowed The Award of Ultimate Distinction by Wine Enthusiast Magazine and has been awarded the Best Of Award of Excellence; from Wine Spectator for 24 consecutive years.

                                                      Overall, the best dining experience in Tucson. The service, food, and ambience are exceptionally fine. The views from the resort and the beauty of the grounds are a pleasant bonus.

                                                      A beautiful location and a good place to go for a special occasion. While the food menu was limited, food was cooked to perfection and they could accommodate my spouse’s lactose tolerance easily. They had an extensive wine and liquor selection. On a Thursday night they also had lovely piano music making for a romantic birthday date night for us. We would definitely go back for a special date!

                                                      Very inconsistent on service. Stellar one minute, but neglected the next. Wrong drink presented (twice), incorrect billing. No one came to the table for extended time (not while eating), although dinner came expediently, as did the check. Asked about our bread/butter a several times, etc. Wine glass refilled...but only for one at our table while others' glasses were at same low level. Disappointing.

                                                      Food absolutely outstanding. Service very professional but the waits between courses were a bit too long. My cocktail was creative and nicely presented but too sweet. Noise level became unpleasant when a large group was seated right next to us.

                                                      Service was wonderful! Our waiter was very knowledgeable and even comped our dessert bc we weren’t the biggest fans of it.

                                                      I was looking forward to dinner here but was really disappointed. We had a reservation, but it wasn’t until 40 minutes after the reservation time that we were seated at a table and a server came up to us. We were told numerous times that Mondays are always busy. Fine, but that is a known issue that should have been sorted out. The room we were in was nice with a great sunset view. The service was pretty terrible. It was rushed and inattentive. Among other things, we had to ask for spoons for soup. C’mon, it’s the little details that make “fine dining” and they were lacking here. As I’ve found, almost no one knows what good table service is anymore, and certainly not the servers here. The food was just okay. The bread service was a few hunks of really hard sourdough. My carpaccio appetizer was a really nice plate. I had high hopes when my short-rib entree came out because I could see it was perfectly cooked…falling off the bone and with some browning on top. My hopes were dashed because the meat had no real taste and the polenta it was served on was soupy. I only ate about half the plate and then just stopped because it just wasn’t worth it. My tablemates had similar experiences. One person’s Brussel sprouts were cremated, one’s steak was not cooked right, and another ordered the jumbo asparagus that was really thin. Sauces were ordered for the steaks, but the incorrect ones were brought. I’m not usually a dessert person but I ordered the Beaujolais Torte, and it was delicious. I shared it with another person, and it was too much for the two of us to eat. Overall, this was not the experience I expected and certainly not one I plan to repeat.
