The Hop Vine formerly the ‘Royal Hotel’ was built in 1874 and was the main stopping off point for goods being transported to and from the old Turnpike road the A59. The Royal as it was known has served the community and travellers alike. To the rear of the building in our historic Cobbled Garden you will find our own brewery housed in the stables which were used for the horses and stage coaches as they passed through the village. From Ales to YPA’s, to Blonde beers we are a small producer using primary English hops brewing exclusively in house for The Hop Vine and our sister pub the Legh Arms.

Our countryside sister the Legh Arms is our latest addition to the family and is situated in the pretty hamlet of Mere Brow. Here we serve our trademark delicious home produced quality food and excellent home brewed ales. Your hosts Mike & Julie and their superb team bring a wealth of experience in the trade and have sourced the best in the local area to tempt you.

    Being gluten free, I had a wonderful starter and main course. My husband’s starter of ribs was fantastic and he wished he had had it as a main.

    As always, great food, well cooked freshly and served by efficient and friendly young staff. A good selection of beers, including their own brews. I have not visited for a few months, but each time I'm never disappointed.The bill for 3 meals and a bottle of good wine was very reasonable, and I have no hesitation about recommending it.

    We go to the Hop Vine every 3 months the service and the food is always 1st class there is always a good selection of specials on as well if you fancy a change Brilliant 🤩

    We really enjoyed our visit to the Hop Vine again, the food, service and value for money was excellent! The sea bass was the nicest I have had! The waiters were very kind and moved tables for us. Thank you x
