THE HOUSE is a historic oasis where people can eat, drink and celebrate day or night in true Florida Riviera style. Located directly on the New River referred to as the Venice of America, in the heart of Downtown Fort Lauderdale.

This iconic structure is complemented by a charming eclectic use of vintage furniture with a whimsical twist, outfitted with mixed china, vibrant flowers and lush trees. The restaurant also features extensive outdoor patio seating set amongst umbrellas, making THE HOUSE the perfect waterfront destination in Fort Lauderdale. The outdoor seating is transformed into an intimate setting for those looking to escape the hustle and bustle of everyday life.

Be part of something new on the river Downtown Fort Lauderdale with our "HOUSE OF VEUVE", where we will be featuring a "Veuve" themed brunch party experience in the west house. Design and decor set the stage for the special a la carte food menu offered along with tasty sips and of course "Veuve" by the bottle or the glass. This tasty, fun and fashionable brunch experience is only offered by pre-reservation on Saturday & Sunday afternoons. The vibe is created for outdoor dining, indoor seating is available for those not so perfect days and those that prefer to sit inside.

    Food was excellent, great environment, awesome vibe and amazing server. Every time I come here I feel welcomed, taken care of and not rushed plus the food is always great! Can’t wait to go again.

    The House on the River is a fine place to dine. The food is exquisite, the service was delightful, and the atmosphere was breathtaking. I would 100% recommend eating at The House on the River.

    We went for the Titanic menu experience since they only have this once or twice a year. My wife absolutely loved it and she was blown away by everything. This was right up her alley. I left very hungry. I knew the portion sizes were going to be small; however, these were miniscule. They were a tease and I was so hungry when we left the restaurant. The staff members were friendly and welcoming. They were mostly on top of everything although there were times when our water glasses needed to be refilled. They also seemed to miscount the number of plates they needed. We always seemed to be waiting for two people to receive their food. This was truly an experience and it definitely cost me a lot. Was it worth it? My wife will say yes. I'm not so sure. I tried it once and I'm glad I did.

    The view, food and vibe at the House on the River was great. Our server Macarena and the hostess Pilar were very polite, professional and attentive on our visit on Valentine's day. 10 out of 10 service. We will be coming back.

    This is my second time at this restaurant. The first time I went was a year ago and I enjoyed my meal, that is why I returned. My dinner was part of the dinner break menu for a set price. I had the steak frites and it was flavorless and the size of the steak was less than a 5 oz filet. My other dinner guests were not happy as well chicken Milanese was flavorless as well.

    There were a few blips that set the tone for a mediocre experience. Our favorite dining room was closed; one of our three appetizers was wrong, then taken back, but we had to ask twice for the right appetizer and didn't get it until much later; waiter was rushed at everything but swore he did everything right; hostess did not understand English; the main course for one of our party (braised beef ribs) was only slightly warm (it tasted good), while another person with the same dish said hers was hot. My wife and I had been here before and loved the restaurant. We couldn't wait to bring our out-of-town guests. A big fail. We might go back if seeing a show at the nearby Performing Arts Center in the hopes they've improved, but will never again bring guests or go out of our way to eat there.
