THE HOUSE is a historic oasis where people can eat, drink and celebrate day or night in true Florida Riviera style. Located directly on the New River referred to as the Venice of America, in the heart of Downtown Fort Lauderdale. This iconic structure is complemented by a charming eclectic use of vintage furniture with a whimsical twist, outfitted with mixed china, vibrant flowers and lush trees. The restaurant also features extensive outdoor patio seating set amongst umbrellas, making THE HOUSE the perfect waterfront destination in Fort Lauderdale. Design and decor set the stage for the special a la carte food menu offered along with tasty sips and of course "Veuve" by the bottle or the glass. This tasty, fun and fashionable brunch experience is only offered by pre-reservation on Saturday & Sunday afternoons. The vibe is created for outdoor dining, indoor seating is available for those not so perfect days and those that prefer to sit inside.

    Fabulous brunch today at the House on the River. Our server, Stacy was amazing!! Hard to believe it is just her second day working here. She is a treasure!! Can’t wait to return!!! Thank you Stacy!!!

    I was made to wait till my other party arrived even though more then half the patio was empty. Given the wrong drink menu which unfortunately both of us found a drink we enjoyed. Brunch board was a great idea if everything arrived hot. Waffles were cold and hard and the chicken was cold and a bit oily. Our waiter was good.

    Took a good friend out for her birthday and it was our first time dining here after seeing a show at the Broward Center just a short walk away. It was absolutely amazing! The ambience was classy, quiet and festive for the holidays. Our server was amazing and he even fulfilled my request of a birthday song/acknowledgement with a candle on my friend's dessert! The food was delicious and the Dinner with Benefits Menu was great value for money!! Will definitely come here again!! Highly recommend going here!!

    We had a great experience from the minute we walked in. We done out a lot and this was one of the best experiences we’ve had locally. We sat at a table inside, had a view of the river and the whole place was decorated beautifully for Christmas. We were party of 6; all the men had the filet and it was cooked perfect. I had the trout and I can’t wait to go back and have it again. The flavor was so original, not something I’ve seen on a menu often. Our server was great too. We will be back!

    I ordered the Caesar salad with shrimp. The 3 shrimp($16 add on) were like rubber and tasted strongly of iodine. I almost spit out the piece of the second that I tried after trying a small bite of the first one and concluding that surely its foul taste and repugnant texture had to be an aberration. The “Caesar” dressing seemed to be mayonnaise only.

    I have eaten all over the world and love to cook, the Caesar Salad was the best I have ever had (although they need to offer anchovies) and the Pork Chop was so amazing. I have never eaten a pork chop cooked so perfectly. The sauce, mushrooms, and smashed potatoes were beautiful.
