The Ivy Castle View is an all-day British brasserie in the heart of Guildford, located just off the High Street, the main entrance is within the Tunsgate Quarter. With an all-encompassing menu serving modern British and international Ivy-inspired classics from dawn until dusk, the restaurant is open seven days a week and is also featuring a private dining room, outdoor terrace and a bar, offering tranquil relaxed yet sophisticated dining with beautiful views across Guildford Castle.

    The Ivy has a lovely atmosphere with helpful staff. We were unfortunate enough to sit next to a team out on their Christmas work-do. They were very loud, they had no inhibitions, nor awareness, nor consideration for other diners.

    The Ivy has some lovely food and very good service. But it is very pricey and they did ask if we would like festive crackers at the start and then charge us for the privilege without warning!

    Menu was boring & underwhelling, very limited choice, 2 of us had to send our sirloin steaks (should have been a flat iron given how thin it was) back as it was overcooked, chicken was bland, and fillet steak was not very tasty. Everything cost extra even the steak sauce, very expensive and not a place I would recommend or revisit. In fact we had a booking with Ivy Asia for next week which we are cancelling due to our experience at the Ivy last night, both restaurants are in the same building so expect they have the same chef’s kitchen. Not a great way to celebrate my daughter’s birthday!

    Such a wonderful experience from start to finish! Beautiful surroundings, fantastic service and beautiful food with lots of flavours. Really recommend for a great dining experience
