    I always enjoy the ivy . Only thing that was disappointing is the eggs on the eggs Benedict were hard .

    Food good. Service good. The ivy was not busy so we were not rushed even when the lunchtime customers came in and filled the tables

    The service and scrambled egg and smoked salmon was amazing ,shame we couldn’t have a glass of presecco but their licence started at 10 am we arrived at 9 ☹️.The decor was fantastic

    Accommodated our early afternoon tea request for my mums birthday. Nice to see a place allow you to mix menus and not say no. My mum had the chicken Milanese and I had the afternoon tea which was filling and had nice selection of savoury and sweet. Table a little bit too small for the big teapots but couldn’t fault anything else. Our server Alice was pleasant

    We’ve been to the Spinningfields restaurant in Manchester previously and that was a perfect experience. We decided to go to the one in York St Helen’s. We arrived 10min early but that wasn’t a problem and we were seated straight away. Service was good but it took 45min for our mains to come out. We were celebrating our son’s birthday and had ticked that we were celebrating a birthday. When we attended the Manchester venue, we did the same as it was our anniversary and got a free profiterole but in York there was no mention of us celebrating anything. They had also ran out of take away boxes for our son to take out what he couldn’t finish. Prices had gone up recently and the bill was a lot more than expected and there is also a 12.5% service charge automatically added but you can have that removed.
