Situated high up on the hill and overlooking the common, The Jolly Farmer is a characterful pub at the heart of the community, renowned for great fresh food from our seasonal menu and a warm welcome from our friendly team.

Spacious and charming, the bright and airy dining area enjoys open views across the common as does the large front terrace for al fresco dining.

    Overall, an excellent experience: the staff who looked after our food orders were particularly attentive (5 stars for sure) , although initial drinks were somewhat slow in arriving. My only serious negative is that there was background music that was intrusive and not conducive to having a calm and relaxed meal with easy conversation. This does, it appear, to be the 'modern trend' !! But it is a trend I, and all our friends, equally abhor. On this occasion, we managed to geta table as far from the music as possible, which did restrict its influence to n acceptable level. A good range of food options, which were very well cooked and presented.

    Really great local pub, beautiful outside views of the common and really lovely style of bar and restauranrt inside. Food and drink selection is excellent, service is also great. Would highly recommend for casual drinks and also the great menu on offer.

    Enjoyed a nice meal from a varied menu. Care was taken over dietry requirements. Only problem was being next to a very noise table of women. Hope to return soon.

    We have visited the Jolly Farmer a number of times and the food is of good quality and a great menu. Service is terrific with a very friendly and efficient staff. We will be returning again for sure !11

    Wonderful service followed by tasty, well presented food. Asked for a quiet corner and got one. However needed extra light to see the menu
