Serving up New American Tavern Cuisine in our two-floor full-service restaurant and bar, equipped with two 50-seat bars, world-inspired snacks and entrees, brick pizza oven, private event space, and an open rooftop patio that offers views of downtown Worcester and City Square. Located next to the DCU Center and minutes from Polar Park, we’re a natural choice pre and post-game.

*Due to limited patio seating, we do not take reservations for our patio. Please note the patio request in your reservation, or ask upon arrival, and we will do our best to accommodate.

**The rooftop is open Wednesday-Friday 4 PM - close. Saturday & Sunday 12 PM - close.

***Public parking is available at The Mercantile Center Garage with direct access to the restaurant on Level 3A.

    *NOTE*- When booking, please keep your guest count at 1. Do not enter how many guests are attending. Your booking is for one Igloo which seats up to six people. Select the date & time you would like to join us - click Find Table - select the time from the available slots (it will say 1 special under the time) - For the Seating Option select "Outdoor," you can now book your reservation. FAQ: Reservations are required. All reservations are 2 hours max with a 6 person limit, no exceptions. A required $50 non-refundable rental fee will appear when you book your date & time. Each igloo is equipped with a heater however, we still encourage guests to dress warmly. The Mercantile reserves the right to cancel any reservation due to weather.

    Three of us dinerd here. Excellent, creative cocktails Shared apps of Cubano pull aparts and roasted broccoli- both interesting and delicious, I had the Japanese fried chicken sandwich which was excellent. FF were coated, an upgrade over what most places serve. Burgers were great and cooked to order. Rachel, our server, was attentive and professional. We enjoyed our meal here.

    We did the igloo experience and it was amazing! Very cold day and it wasn’t that bad. Our server was AMAZING!!! Above and beyond does not even explain how great she was! Food was great!

    While the setting might be trendy and visually appealing the close proximity of the tables severely detracted from our experience. I was seated within inches of a person who had a strong odor of stale cigarette smoke. So close that any time someone at the neighboring long table needed to get up I would need to move in order to facilitate it. My companion got bumped by someone’s chair back hard enough to cause discomfort but thankfully not so hard as to be injurious. Ob the service side of things our reserved table was available at the designated time, our orders were taken promptly. Food met expectations but was not overly impressive though this could have been because it was competing with the cigarette odor and dining is such a sensory experience. There is a reason scented candles are generally considered a bad idea in the restaurant industry. That said I am only considering the role the close proximity of tables played in my exposure to the odor as that falls within the control of the establishment.

    The Mercantile has become one of our go-to spots in Worcester when we're going to shows locally. A good selection of moderately priced meals and drinks. Nice casual to classy ambience. Last night it was not crowded so the noise level was pretty low but even with crowds it never seems to get too bad. I can only speak for the Sweet Chick pizza I had but it was a great choice ..... nice thin crust, flavorful mix of chicken, barbecue sauce, cheese and green onions.
