Had a reservation for 6 people. Were promptly seated. We poured our own water, but needed more to fill 6 glasses. Our server was very friendly, but was way too busy to be able to give good service. Took 30 minutes to get enough water for the table, coffee refills, and to be able to even place the order. Our server was so busy she told us she thought she had already taken our order, and was waiting for our food. When we finally placed our order the first 2 entrees I ordered (breakfast burrito and lox sandwich) they were out of, so I asked to come back to me when they took the rest of the order for the table. She did that and took my order last. Food came out within a reasonable amount of time after the order was placed, but mine did not come out with the rest. It arrived about 10 minutes after. The food was hot and prepared correctly. We had 3 separate checks. They brought the handheld credit processor. It had just the total for each check, nothing itemized. When I put my card in it said +3%, +5%, +7%. I was confused that the tip suggestion would be so little as I was still going to leave 20% bc I knew the server was busier than management should’ve allowed. It was then I remembered seeing in the menu that parties of 6 or more had automatic gratuity, although I didn’t remember the %. There was no where on the screen to see what tip had already been given and no verbal mention. I was last to pay, so the other 2 checks had already accidentally given over 40% tip. We didn’t say anything and left with full bellies, but a bad taste in our mouths.

I also want to apologize that your server did not mention the 20% auto gratuity for large parties. Transparency and check accuracy is a priority for us, and we will be providing additional training for our staff based on your comments.
