The Dining Room is an elevated cuisine experience that overlooks Central Park, with a focus on local and seasonal ingredients. We locally source our ingredients from farms within a 150-mile radius of The Met. Entrance to the Museum and The Met Dining Room requires a ticket or Membership card. Window seats can be requested but are not guaranteed.

                                                        Our server was excellent, filled our glasses with iced tea without having to track her down. The ambience is great - a good view of the obelisk. My only criticism is that I requested a "medium rare hamburger" and it came out medium. I didn't want to wait for a redo and the quality of the meat was fine -- it just wasn't perfect.

                                                        Excellent service and wonderful food. The views of Central Park today with its fall colors were magnificent. I always liked this restaurant but its seems to get better day by day

                                                        Great lunch today…..beautiful presentation and delicious. Yellowtail tuna, Roasted and glazed duck breast and a Hazelnut/chocolate cake. Portions were large enough that two of us shared the meal. Our server Michael is warm and friendly. Always happy to see him.

                                                        The Met Dining Room is a true gem. Peaceful and very enjoyable respite, whether you’re strolling through the museum or go to the restaurant as your destination. Lovely Fall lunch, terrific view out the fab floor to ceiling windows. Been there multiple times, always good, but this was the best. Front of house always welcoming. Our server Evelyn was charming and very knowledgeable. Crab cakes, butternut squash bisque, tender as butter root beer (don’t let that scare you) short ribs, and foie gras torchon - all standouts. Cocktails amazing - especially the margarita with a whisper of cranberry. And terrific butterflake rolls (for which you are not charged). Give a toast with a couple of glasses of Prosecco and you will walk out saying “I’m never leaving NYC.”
