Old Town Scottsdale’s heart beats to a Latin drum at The Mission where renowned Chef Matt Carter (Zinc Bistro and Fat Ox) brings a modern twist to Latin cuisine blending influences from Spain, Mexico, Central America and South America.

Sip a signature margarita with unique flavors such as cucumber jalepeno or aguacate (yes, we said avocado) as you watch your Tableside Guacamole made to your taste from more than a dozen fresh ingredients.

Home made tortillas, and salsas are made fresh daily to accompany an assortment of meats and seafood prepared on a Plancha or a grill using pecan and mesquite wood that instills a rich flavor. And save room for dessert including our pumpkin bread pudding or expresso churros.

The ambiance makes this place! We walked in and immediately knew we'd picked a great spot for the last night of our trip. The food was unique and delicious. The service was also solid.

The food has gone way downhill at this place, it used to be good but it was awful. Food was cold, skirt steak tacos were chewy, overdone and gamey, table side Guac was gross. Seated in the way back where there was no vibe, it was overall a bad experience. I won’t be returning

Been there multiple times and my girlfriend from California came out and I took her there. She loved it so much. The atmosphere is amazing. Margaritas are perfect. The food was delicious. The service was amazing. A good place to visit and have the best meal. Thank you

I love The Mission and have been going to eat there for nearly 20 years. Unfortunately the prices have skyrocketed to point of ridiculousness. Sadly I won’t be going back for a while.

Our experience at The Mission was a mixed bag this last visit. We have visited in the past and enjoyed the interesting menu options. We dined there during a busy time in Scottsdale and were dining later in the evening due to reservation availability. This restaurant is very very loud- tables close together and very loud electronic dance music playing throughout the dining room. When we were first seated it was nearly impossible to have a conversation due to the loud music and tables very close to us on either side with conversations going on. After those tables were vacated and no one else was seated, we could at least chat a little. Service was slow to begin but once our server came to the table after a pretty long wait to take drink orders, service was very good. Our food choices were delicious. Menu options are varied both in variety and price. There were some good vegetarian options available. Despite the delicious food, we would likely not return unless we could be seated outside as the very loud music and close proximity of other diners make having a high end dinner in the dining room unpleasant.

Service was not great. Our order was forgotten I believe. Mistakes happen. The dishes we had, the pulled pork and the grits were cloyingly sweet. The salsa was divine. I will give them another try.

Lovely restaurant with great ambiance. Food was good although on the pricier side. Soups could have been served hotter. Service was pleasant but most staff seemed more interested in a couple seated behind us as numerous staff came by and even when the waiter came to take our order he stopped mid sentence to step to that table and chat. Thought that was rather impolite. Other than that, we do like this restaurant.
