Modern Diner. Global Fare. Delicious Fun. This is The Mockingbird. Led by talented culinary duo executive chef / partner Brian Riggenbach and front-of-house extraordinaire / partner Mikey Corona, The Mockingbird offers a menu of comfort classics with a global twist and an ambiance of art deco diner whimsy. Walls are covered in beautiful custom-made wallpaper, painted tin tiles on the ceiling, windows open to two patios as weather allows and a larger-than-life mirrored bird sculpture overlooking the dining room. And then there’s the food and drink! Munch on a Mockingburger or Mac N Cheese (aka Feeling Grate!) while sipping an Old-Fashioned-ish or a Punchin’ Bag (ask about it – they are famous!). We also love hosting group events! We have a private dining room, an upstairs dining room and an enclosed patio, all perfect for bridal showers and bachelorette parties plus business lunches and corporate dinners. Mockingbird is always a charming experience. Our most recent trip was on Valentines Day. The table had a live flame tea light and rose petals on it. My only complaint was that our server was taking care of a large table of older women that kept him busy and not as attentive to us as I would’ve liked. Appetizer didn’t come before the food but I didn’t dock the rating for that for reasons already stated. Food was excellent- we got Pasta La Vista, Tatchos, and Bulgogi Hanger Steak and they were all fantastic. The ambience is perfect - dimly lit and well decorated. We will be back.

Great food served quickly. We go here regularly before TPAC performances because we know we can get in and out quickly, and still enjoy a great meal. Small , but varied menu. I am ready for some new choices. I think menu hasn’t changed in the last 18-24 months.

Excellent food. Big portions that are more than enough to share! Would only have been better if they recognized the birthdays in our group and if we got to meet Maneet!

Our server was outstanding. He knew the menu like it was second nature. The ambiance was quirky but tastefully reserved. The food was delicious too. The short ribs just fell apart on the plate because of its tenderness. My wife had the grilled cabbage— unique and packed full of interesting flavors. We had the butter cake— delicious and huge (I think a small football team could have made a meal of it). The mescal cocktails were almost worth fighting over. All together, a pleasant break from the frenetic pace just outside in downtown Nashville.
