This was the first time visiting the Nest and will be our last. The setting and ambience is very delightful. The Service was attentive and well trained. The food was sub-par. The fish was over seasoned and not pleasing. It was not finished. Two rack of lamb (4-bone racks each) dinners were ordered both being requested to be cooked at medium rare. When the racks were received noticed right away that one bone was missing on the dish. Pointed out to staff and were told that one fell off during plating. Being a fine dinning front house person for many years and working for 6 years in Nantucket, MA, I made the conclusion that the rack was over cooked. The 4 racks were cut so that there were 2 bones per cut. Each dinner had half the serving of rack of lamb coming out WELL DONE! and the other half was MEDIUM WELL. These racks were over cooked! Instead of recooking these $49 meals they sent them to the table splitting the well done rack onto each plate with the medium well rack on top of it, I am guessing they were hoping we were not going to notice or say anything. As you can imagine the well done rack tasted like mutton =( When asking for it to be corrected the staff helped quickly and the meal came back out with the racks cut into single pieces to speed up the cooking time and the same runny -greasy potatoes came out and asparagus from the previous serving with neither being warm. This meal was not enjoyable and not worth the time or money. The waiter did was he could to compensate the kitchen mistake with cappuccinos (very nice), but no other compensation was offered other than the manager coming over and saying, "I have requested that the kitchen keeps and eye on your meals". What does this mean? Why were their eyes not on it the first time? If I am going to get mediocre food I am going to go to a place that knows their "lane" and charges the correct price for the food. There are much better and affordable options out there. This was a bummer! We had high hopes ~

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience at The Nest. We're glad to hear that you enjoyed our ambiance and service. However, we're truly sorry to hear that your meal did not meet your expectations. I investigated your complaints thoroughly with your server, the chef and our manager and they were all surprised you had written such a poor review. They felt that they had offered your table extra attention and were told at the time that all were satisfied with their meals. Clearly there was a communication breakdown and for that I am sorry. We take your comments seriously. We strive to provide a high-quality dining experience and will continue to do so. Thank you for giving us a try and we wish you the very best.
