The award-winning New London restaurant has been on Chelmsford’s dining and social scene since October 2013 and it still is a relaxed yet sophisticated dining venue. The venue is full of elegance and glamour – now more than ever after an incredible redesign in March 2018.

We have a reputation for seasonally inspired menus with a unique approach to homemade food which makes the New London restaurant a special place to visit.

We pride ourselves on our excellent service with a personal touch. All our staff are proud of, and knowledgeable about, our dishes, wines and cocktails.

We offer only the best locally sourced and seasonal British produce including fresh seafood, locally sourced ingredients and foraged herbs. All our dishes are served in the inimitable style that has helped it garner so many compliments and awards since opening.

The Moulsham Street 'Pay-and-Display' car-park is only 2 minutes' walking distance.It is also possible to park in some areas along Moulsham Street. You will need to look out for the parking regulation markings and signs (1 hour free parking Mon-Fri 8am to 6pm with no return within 3 hours - free after 6pm and weekends).

It is always a fabulous dining experience . We had a perfect table for two by the window. The food and service was exemplary.

My friend and I had a marvellous dinner at the New London. Steak Tartare was to die for and a sharing Chateaubriand was tender and accompanied with delicious sides, especially the chilli spiked spring greens. Service was exemplary, drinks good and the prices extremely reasonable.

Best place to eat in Chelmsford, no quoins. Could do with some curtains or soft furnishings to deaden the noise from other tables.

Our first visit to this gem and it was amazing. As we walked through the door, we were greeted in a nice comfortable seating area and the bar, we was invited to take a seat and offered a drink, and immediately made to feel welcome, while our table was being made ready, as we was early. When our table was ready our drinks were then taken to the table by our waitress. Our table was nicely laid out and intimate, with ambient lighting, and great decor throughout, and from that moment, we knew we had walked into somewhere special. Surrounding tables were filled with people, happy, and relaxed, due to their dining experience provided by the attentive staff, who were on the ball, and couldn't do enough for their guests. The menu was filled with a great selection to choose from, we both had a starter, which was delicious, our mains were amazing, fantastic presentation, very well ballanced flavours, it was all piping hot and supprisingly a good size portion of food, it was all cooked to perfection and I didn't want the plate to end. The wine list is fantastic, with a great selection, along with beers, spirits and cocktails. The cost of the meal, was very reasonable, and we look forward to going back.

We have eaten here before but tonight they really outdid themselves. The service was prompt, polite and great. The food was tremendous - my partner had the Scallops and Pork Belly to start and the steak for main and both were great. I had the Venison to start and the Duck Breast for main and these were equally fantastic. Both desserts - the Tarte Tatin and Chocolate Torte - were also lovely. Great meal, one of the best we have ever had. We will definitely be back!

I booked a table for Valentines day after hearing from a friend that it was a lovely locally run restaurant and it did not disappoint. The service and the ambience was incredible, the dim lighting really adding to the romantic aura of the evening. Locally sourced food at a great price point for the quality of food and service received. I know they change their menu regularly with differing seasonal menus, however we had the Chateaubriand sharer as the main dish which was incredible. Perfectly cooked and great value with all the sides which were included. The starters and desserts also hit the spot, especially the scallops/pork belly and the chocolate torte. The wine menu is also extensive for bottles, with a reduced menu for single glass options. I would 100% go back here and love that it is a local business.
